Let's Start At the Very Beginning

... It's a very good place to start, I hear.

I'm going to rewind the clock a bit to about 3 1/2 weeks ago (seriously!? How can life change so much in less than a month!?) and fill you in on the few boring things that have happened.

A mere 27 days ago, it was the day before I got hitched to this guy.

Biker, soldier, pancake-maker extraordinaire. Goofball, hard-worker, and expert hugger. Husband to moi, which I think attests to his patient heart.

Anyway, more on him later. (Much, much more so if you're sick of hearing Luke's praises sung and need another infatuated wife, go check out Pioneer Woman.)

27 days ago my sisters, mom, and that handsome man up there were decorating for a little celebration we were throwing.

 (You know, our wedding.)

We were running around, yet staying pretty calm about everything. Things were falling into place. For the most part.

(We shall not speak of this, aka, my wedding cake the night before. Fear not, my mama is a miracle worker and they turned out beautiful!)

We had an awesome rehearsal with all of our friends and an absolutely lovely rehearsal dinner.

(Here is me, standing next to the Werner men and looking quite bridal)

We ended the night with Luke and I going our separate ways to watch the fireworks with our families, he in Peoria and us in Henry. We had decided a long time ago that we did not want to see each other before the wedding, so it was kind of  really exciting to say goodnight knowing that the next time we saw each other, it would be us meeting at the altar during our wedding ceremony!

There is so much more I could say about all the planning, crafting, and scheduling involved that made the day that followed so special and perfect, but at 3 1/2 weeks post-wedding, I'm still too exhausted to think about it. I would much rather remember the day for what it was, and not flashback to the horrors dwell on the not-so-perfect side of wedding planning. :)

All I can say is without the endless talent of many, especially my sisters and mama, I'm fairly certain my wedding day would have looked a lot like this:

  1. the girl in the Vegas picture looks like Amanda, but that man is definitely not Adam. Is there something that I need to know?
